Know your skin type in 2 min

Rather dry, combination, oily... do you really know what your skin type is? We don't always know our skin, and yet it is essential to choose a beauty routine adapted to its needs, pamper it and enhance it.

NORMAL SKIN

It's the perfect skin of our childhood that we all dream of finding again! It produces just the right amount of sebum to stay hydrated, protected and comfortable without shining. Smooth, soft and radiant, it has no imperfections, does not tighten, and the pores are tightened.

DRY SKIN

It is skin lacking sebum that feels tight and uncomfortable. Quite dull and rough to the touch, dry skin does not shine and its pores are invisible and tightened.

OILY SKIN

It is a skin that produces more sebum than normal, a lipid substance secreted by the sebaceous glands to protect the epidermis from external aggressions . The skin then takes on a shiny appearance and the pores become dilated.

COMBINATION SKIN

Combination skin does not represent a dermatological entity in its own right, as dry skin or hyperseborrheic skin can be. It is characterized by an oily tendency on the middle part of the face (forehead, nose and chin) and a normal to dry (or even scaly) appearance on the rest of the face.

THE INFALLIBLE TRICK TO FINALLY KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE
Still hesitant? Try the tissue test !
Cleanse your skin without applying moisturizer afterwards, and wait 30 minutes to an hour.
Place a tissue like a mask against the face, press for a few seconds then observe the tissue:
If there are no traces of oil on the tissue, your skin is normal to dry .
If there are some traces of oil in the T-zone only, your skin is combination.
If there are traces of grease all over the tissue, your skin is oily .

SKIN TYPE OR SKIN CONDITION?

Be careful not to confuse skin type and skin condition!
Skin condition is added to skin type and can affect different skin types at the same time. Skin conditions can also overlap and will be just as important as skin type when choosing your cosmetics.
Although our skin type does not change once we reach adulthood (except under the effect of hormonal treatment), the state of health of the skin does change.
Skin conditions:
KNOW MY SKIN CONDITION
SENSITIVE SKIN: This is the skin that feels sensations of burning, tingling, or even redness. The origins of these problems can be diverse: stress, fatigue, emotions, use of overly aggressive cosmetic products.

DEHYDRATED SKIN : This is the skin that feels burning, tingling, or even redness. The origins of these problems can be diverse: stress, fatigue, emotions, use of overly aggressive cosmetic products.

MATURE SKIN: With age, the production of collagen and elastin decreases, causing sagging skin, loss of elasticity and firmness, wrinkles and pigment spots. We speak of mature skin from pre-menopause, around 40-50 years old in general.

ACNE SKIN: Acne skin: acne is not necessarily reserved for oily skin or young skin! Many skins suffer from hormonal acne at any age. Acne skin must be treated gently without attacking or drying out the skin.
